Awesome!

I hope the serama hatches some out, I have a friend who wants the chicks! I have pretty much narrowed my flock down, except brahma I am growing out that I need to do something with.

I may end up selling the entire flock splash roo splash hens and all, even the yungins. I just have way way too much on my plate and I don't have more money to keep putting into feed for no eggs. I know after this crazy molt things will kick in but by then its winter and who will want eggs anymore!

Your beautiful brahmas?

Think about it this way. You've stuck way too much money into feeding them to simply give up on them. Once they are through their molt, they should begin laying again. Lots of people buy eggs during the winter. I don't like having to use heat lamps in the winter, but I overall prefer winter chicks.

I hope that all is well on your end.

Quote:Thanks, I don't know how long it takes. I know he will be as fast as possible. The vet I've been talking to is incredibly nice and spends hours talking to me about everything.

I pray you get this resolved, what a headache and heartache!!

Are Serama's flighty. I have a friend that bought a frizzled serama roo and she is afraid it is going to hurt it's self because it is crazy in the cage and though she is trying to tame it by holding him.

Flighty? Ours are spoiled rotten, all the flying they do is to your feet! lol

adding, I have eggs ready if you want some Mich!

ok I am done posting, what a messy mess I make on the thread with these errors! Take care y'all I will try again tomorrow!

I still get updates from you on Facebook. Love the pups! Maybe it just seems that way because I'm not on very often and I rarely post anything.

My big old cochins are doing the same. It's been months and they're still taking their sweet time. Hopefully yours will pick up soon.

I need some advice on a chick I just helped hatch. It should have hatched 3 days ago. But It was peeping and had a good size hole in the shell but was shrink wrapped.
It's knees are very red and swollen from trying to get out of the shell. Right now I have the baby drying in the bator. But what can I do for it's little legs?
There was also feces in the shell and stuck on the chick. It that going to cause infection or something?

LOL! I don't know what is going on with BYC right now... :/

So good news, no new deaths from the chicken "plague". AND 13 of 18 Wheaten/Blue Wheaten Ameraucana shipped eggs from Lark Rise hatched. Previously my best hatch with shipped eggs was 3 out of 20 :/ SO VERY happy with that! And that includes 2 chicks I rescued who were malpositioned with beak in belly unable to pip. DH suggested I need to do a video of how I do that as I haven't seen that anywhere else.

Bad news: One of my month old babies ran out through the run fence and apparently got trapped in this flash flood storm we are having. I went out to check on everyone and found it upside down next to the fence on the outside, soaked, freezing, and trying to die on me. I stuffed it in my bra and ran it inside. I set it up in the extra bator set to 103 (their normal body temp right?) and rubbed vet rx on its feet and beak, gave b12 and vit e just in case it will help and keep poking a hand in to stimulate it to keep from fading. Don't know if it will work but its all I can come up with.... ? Ideas?
