(NOTES: Red plugs.... took 2nd one back out as has a humidity spike overnight to 60% it rained cats n dogs last night! humidifer set at 35% so it will keep pulling it out! )

OMG how difficult to keep humidity levels steady!! Do other incubators actually control humidity?? If so thats my next bator!! ugggg what a pain and of course during the leftovers from Isaac! btw I am in PA :)
I had tons of trouble with my LG, both humidity and temperature, but absolutely zero issues with the Brinsea Mini Advance. Before setting eggs in it I marked where the water needed to be in the wells with a green marker to keep the humidity steady for day 1-18 and then tested it with both wells filled for days 18 to 21 and it holds the higher humidity steady even when the room RH changes slightly or I open the bator. It only holds 7 eggs though. I really want a Genesis 1588, as from what I've read on this forum it is the next best thing to sliced bread and holds more eggs! I got my Brinsea off Amazon for about 120 with free shipping. Of course if I could I'd get a Brinsea Octo 20 advance ex ... but I'm just not that rich lol.

I live in South West Florida and the eggs came from Nashville TN. The box actually was only marked with my address, there were no "fragile" or "handle with care" stickers.
Thats what I figured!!! I wonder if someone did a "questionair" on here about this!!! we should!!

I read somewhere that a guy took both plugs out for the duration of the hatch ...... that's what I've done. I'm SUCH a hacker that I don't even have a hygrometer (or whatever the humidity checking thingie is) Our natural humidity runs at round 70% so even though the bator is inside I think there's enough humidity in the air ... we'll see

I think its great if its working!!! I overthink EVERYTHING lol

Egg Scale.... Anyone know if walmart sells scales that show grams? I wonder if I can find one in the food section... I bought mine and it cost too much for only reading grams in 5's ! I bought it for shipping and thought it was a good one, obviously NOT! This is NOT! uggg

I bought a good postal scale off of ebay for $15. It does both grams and oz. I also use it for shipping and my homemade soaps/lotions. Works great.

MOLD in the BATOR! wtheck!! really?? common sense tells me to STOP putting water in it and turn off the room dehumidifier!! Anyone have any issues with this or is it because my eggs didnt ship for two weeks after!! it was running empty for over two weeks before I put eggs in it. Suggestions? If shipping didnt kill these poor things I will!! OMG!! I am thinking about a drop of bleach in the water!!

I would add some apple cider vinegar instead of the bleach.
