Ya all are gonna think I went and lost it!



I have 8 more eggs added in the bator!!!! YUP 8!!! I am not sure how this will pan out but at least these will have a better chance to live in a bator.
A nice local man found them under his wheelbarrow, Black Copper Marans X Red Stars / Comets and doesn't have a bator, he kept them under light and I got them asap and candled and 5 I could see well...shells are darker, they are growing a bit bigger than my silkie, but he thinks they will be close. I know the time difference could be an issue, BUT I have a good feeling about these guys! a really good feeling!! So screw all the homework, gowin with me gut on this!!

Hi Big A Chickens!! My sanity definitely!!! I only have one that was alive on day 10 candle : ( the rest were unfert and scrambled. I just added 8 into the bator tonight.

Anything you can share would be awesome!!! T

Siblings!!! Your kids are going to have a ball watching them hatch. My kids were the quietest most well behaved while they sat watching today. 3 babies out of 9 so far.

YAYAYAY!!!! pics pics pics!!!! I need to keep my mind of my puppies coming! I am really scared to do this, when I was young I didnt think twice, now I am older and ugggggg I hate getting old!!! I am a worry wart!!!

Shipped, I ordered through mypet chicken and I thought they were shipping from CT but the tracking was from AZ... first mistake was Assuming they were coming from CT which is not all that far away. Ends up 5 out of the 6 red silkies they shipped werent fertile, they have yet to reply to my questioning that one.... But I am new and didnt know much... I wish I would have had more time wondering around this site first!!! I did but so many unforseen things came along!!

On shipped eggs you can usually expect about 50% or less hatch rate. On my first experience I hatched 30% on shipped eggs. The batch that I am incubating now from my own stock I have 17 out of 18 that are active and are due Saturday. So local purchases are better minimizing the possibility that the Post Office are rough or x-ray your package which can cause the eggs not to develope.
