Next stupid question...I have always heard that you need food quality DE for your birds (?).

No Question is every stupid!!! De comes in 2 forms
1= food grade
2= regular
food grade de comes from fresh water good for chickens
regular comes from salt water poisinous for chickens
make sure it is food grade..I asked the guy at the feed store for some he gave me the poisinous kind as long as it says food grade on the bag you are good....I bought mine a a doggy boutique funny place to find it but no one else carries it around me the just scoop it into ziplocks....

good luck finding it it took me a little while I didnt want to wait or pay shipping....

The bag of DE that i purchased did not say food grade..It is labled fossil shell flour diatomaceous earth-amorphous (fresh water type). I hope i got the right stuff !!

I'm just not sure if its the right stuff. Does anybody know if it is ok to use in my coop or if its harmfull to the chickens?
