Diatomaceous Earth - Where can I buy this?

I found my DE at an organic plant nursery. I paid $28.50+tax for 50#.

(ETA: It is food grade, fossil shell flour)

My local TSC had no idea what it is either. You would think that people buying large amounts of livestock feed would need it.

if it doesnt have to be food grade, check the organic section of your lawn and garden area. its only a 5-10 lb bag, but if thats what you can get... we put it on the dog last year, the fleas came before we had our advantix. concern and St. gabriel are two manufacturers. i believe also search for dirt works. they have all kinds of info on it. At my co-op as long as you will buy a product regularly, we will stock it for you. it never hurts to ask if you have a co-op nearby.

I bought "Red Lake Earth" from Meyers Hatchery. I understood it to be DE. I havent used it yet because I was not having any problems yet. Should I go ahead and use it? How much in the coop and run?

i dont have time right this minute, but tree hugger I had a post about this exact thing about a month or so ago...look me up and click on my posts and you should be able to find it... lots of good advice out there

Thanks guys, I went to MFA (I am located in Missouri) & I got that ??? look. They told me they would try to get it. I decided to drive a little further down the road to a store that is associated with Midwest Vet Supply. I always go in there with weird requests. When I asked the store clerk if they carried it she know exactly what it was & started talking about how great it was. I have to wait 2 weeks for their next order to be shipped but at least I found it!!!! I ended up paying $33 for a 50 lb bag. I was so excited I bought 2

I figured it probably doesn't have an expiration date.
