diatomaceous earth

The Pool Grade kind has silica in it, which is poisonous if ingested. So don't buy it!

Pure DE is 90% silica, no matter what the "grade"

The filter type is heat treated, which makes the silica crystalize, and is very harmful to the lungs

If there are ANY ingredients listed besides silica and a very few trace minerals, it is NOT pure DE
The ONLY reason it has a food grade rating is that it's used in grain to control insects and help keep it from sticking together, and there is no way to remove it before consumption
There are NO benefits to animals or humans from ingesting DE

It's not "poisonous" to ingest. It's like eating sand.
