i set mine on the 30th...and my temps were very steady 99.5 to 100 except for one spike to 102 for a few hours....and i am hatching slightly more than half on the 20th day...i read somewhere that if the temp is too high they will hatch early...do you think i need to turn the temp down a degree?

I'm going in to lockdown to marrow morning:) Got 7 eggs, and they are all still alive and boy are they moving! They are from a rhode island red hen and a barred rock roo. So I'm wondering what they'll look like. They aren't sex links!

Mine started hatching a little early, too. I think I need to get a better thermometer. The cheap one that came with the incubator seems to be 1-2 degrees low now that I put a good recently calibrated kitchen one in to check, so my temps were probably high. Should have checked the thermometer BEFORE I set eggs, but you live and learn. I had 2 out of their shells when I left for work this morning a little before 6 and at least 2 more had pipped! I can't wait to get home and see!

I went into lockdown also today, I had 33 eggs, but on candling day 10 and 18, only 18 made it into lockdown, 15 are shipped and 3 of my own. I hope I have better luck this go around, the past 2 times has been bad. Maybe 3rd time will be a charm, not on wood, lol!!!
