Did I Cause These People to Get Fired? - Poor Customer Service

Pics
I miss a lot of my coworkers from my last two places. I absolutely do not miss dealing with the customers though. Of course, not all were bad, but at least half were

My mother had a job where she remained lifelong friends with a couple of her coworkers until she passed. That was good for her. I've never had that type of relationship with coworkers from my jobs.

What kind of job did you have that half the customers were bad? That must have been tough to deal with day after day.

We have a McDonald's that only uses a person for the drive thru. Walk in is all done on kiosks.

We had a number of fast-food restaurants in town that closed their in-house dining during the COVID pandemic. Many of them never reopened their doors. Now it's just a drive thru only. I never used the fast-food restaurants much, so it does not matter to me. But it's a big change for some people.

Pizza/fast food. Unfortunately once covid hit, people got even worse and impatient.

That's too bad. Those were tough times for everyone. Most of our pizza places in town are drive-thru only now, but you can order in advance and it's ready for pickup when you get there.

We just got a new Pizza Ranch restaurant in town, and there the pizza is buffet style. So you just pick what you want from the buffet. If you want some kind of special ordered pizza, you can request it and they will cook it up for the buffet. But I guess nobody gets all that impatient at a buffet because the food is out there waiting for you to take it.

But I put aside enough money when I was working that I don't miss the steady paychecks all that much either.
Us too. People used to rag on me when I would skip the Friday DQ at work. "You have to treat yourself sometimes!" Well, I don't really care for DQ, so it's not a treat. And that $5 every Friday can go into my IRA.

I can drive the same car for 10-12 years. I can skip the expensive vacations. I can skip eating out twice a week. I can shop at Goodwill for most of my clothes.

Now, I can skip getting up and going to work. :celebrate

Covid really brought out the best in some people, and the worst in others. Boredom was a huge problem, and people found ways to deal with it. For better, or worse.
