I have recently purchased a second incubator so I could hatch every two weeks. I chose the Farm Innovators 4250 (circulated air) which I purchased from Amazon. It had really good reviews. When I got it, I set it up and let it run for most the day. I was disappointed that you can only adjust the temperature every half degree (my Hovabator is adjustable to every tenth). I felt the temperature fluctuated too much, so I went onto my local facebook poultry group and asked for opinions from others with the same incubator, and not a one person had anything bad to say about it. I figured I was just spoiled by my Hovabator so decided to go ahead and use it.

I put eggs in Tuesday night. I ended up having to adjust the heat several times, trying to find that sweet spot. This morning I discovered the automatic turner was not working, and the inc thermometer was resting on top of an egg. After I removed the turner and put the eggs back, and after the inc came back up to temp, I checked it with my Spot Check thermometer and the temp was WAY off from where it was with the eggs in the turner (I assume from the thermometer touching an egg). So it turns out the eggs were at a temperature of 101 for about 18 hours. Araucanas hatch better at the lower end of incubating (99.5), so I am worried I cooked them. Are the eggs likely ruined, or can they be saved since they are only on day two?
