Did I get some Cornish X in my assortment?

Yup, looks just like my meaties. Tell them you want your money back. I just went through the same thing with Welp on 2 orders in a row. I won't ever order from them again.

I also ordered a straight run of heavies from McMurray about the same time... mine are about 5 weeks old now. I also got 5 of these big white birds, although curiously, the others are catching up in size now. I am new to this whole chicken thing, though, so take it all with a grain of salt. There's what i think may be a Buff Orpington that is about the same size as some of the big whites now. I also got a different kind of white bird, but I can't tell what it is yet.

The big white ones I got look identical to the ones in your pics, very friendly, and rush right over when I open the door. They don't seem any clumsier than anyone else, though, and while they towered over everyone at first, the others seem to be catching up growth-wise. I was under the impression that CornishX would just keep getting huge...

you sure its not a white rock?..it looks just mine did as a baby..and she was HUGE compared to the other breeds her same age.....good luck finding out what it is!, Wendy

could be a white rock , they are good layers of brown eggs .
we had 100 cornish xx last may and i also got 25 brown egg layers and 2 silver laced wyandottes, it was so funny , i kept pulling out big yellow chicks and replacing them with smaller ones from the two batches i got ! some of them got mixed up , but it was easy to tell who the cornish xx were they were growing before my eyes !!!!!!


IF IT IS A CORNISH XX , we took ours " to market " at 7 weeks old and they wre a decent size.

oh yeah , the cornish don't really even try to perch and they def don't try to fly so maybe that will help with the ID .

Well, there's one perched on top of the water jug right now, and I've seen them up on the perch in their pseudobrooder.

And no, they may very well be White Rocks- I just can't tell. Let me see if I can post some pics...

Here are some snapshots. The white ones are pretty good sized, but then again, so are some of the others.

And I didn't talk to McMurray- I'm so new at this that I'm still learning. I don't know if Fredster did though.

The white ones come running anytime we try to open the doors. And I mean run. Pardon the mess...
