Did my Silkie lay an egg?

Is it our first Silkie egg, or is my wife playing a trick on me?

Bought two of the silkies back in the house this week. Bathed, groomed.
Pampered. It's fair time next week. These girls are going to the show.

Came home this evening to find one smallish light tan colored egg in the
box.

They've never laid an egg before? Are they old enough to do this? About six
months? Maybe seven?

The Rhode Island Hen hatched her eggs last week. Five out of nine eggs. So
I've got some baby chicks.

But my silkies?

pullets don't lay very consistently at first. congrats
