If you go under "my profile" than go to "edit my account" there is a box that you can check that says- "notify me when people follow me". My box was already checked so I guess you have to uncheck it if you don't want to be notified. So YES, people WILL know when you are following them, unless I am reading/ understanding that wrong

Apparently no one is stalking me - sigh! I did try the editing thing and wanted to eliminate that carousel of rotating pictures on the home page but, no matter if I check or uncheck it's still there. Maybe "carousel" means something else. Wish I could eliminate the reviews also. I'd rather have a place to "click" reviews when I do want to see them. It just makes the home page so cluttered with all this stuff.

I could be wrong... but I don't think that is enabled on the forum, just as no one is notified that I have subscribed to a thread.

I think a "following" notification would upset some people and most then would not use the feature. Maybe it's best that the notification is left disabled
