DYK when a person calls that number with the Manitoba area code, there is a recording of Jenny that plays...lol

DYK when a person calls that that number with a Saskatchewan area code, there is no recording. (spoilsports!!)

DYK I have a husband who felt it was necessary to call these numbers just to find out.

Did you know I have not hit that half-century mark yet, and my saw blade is very dull...if you know what I mean.

DYK that down here in the "civilized" world (this portion of it, anyway) we used to be able to make a call to find out the current weather or time? That was before you had to preface every call, local or not, with the area code...royal pain in my keester.

I remember calling for the time and temperature. first they would say "the current time and temperature is brought to you by"advertisement-- then time and temperature.
that was a long time ago. Cell phones made that extinct.

DYK that is before my time. Or maybe we just weren't civilized.

I know the neighbours would have been listening on the party line to get the weather too if we'd had that feature. Perhaps the "party line" was ahead of its time. It went to a single line...but then added back as a new amazing feature later on.

DYK that maybe the difference was that you could invite "your own" people to the convo instead of it being nosy neighbours.
