Show pigs go for BIG BUCKS. Publix, Win dixie, Sonny's bbq & other big time companies bids on FFA/4-H pigs. We (daughter)sold one for $850 once, but had $650 in grain invested. Have seen some go for $1800. It's adolescents selling club livestock.
Now on the other side of the coin.. here at our local farmers auction, we have seen a 300# pig sell for 20 bucks. Also I guy sell an entire trailer of giant hogs for $150.. plus have to pay the auction company part of that for their fee.
Prices of Boer Goats are real high.
Chickens are doing great..
pigs are a dime a dozen.
