I personally don't care about the gender of anyone on here. I find that knowledge, experience and misunderstanding can infect anyone and try to treat all with respect. However, if gender is important to you, you should do something in your profile to make it clear. Whatever makes you happy.

I sometimes use the words "you guys" to mean anybody. Maybe this person uses it the same way? No offense men but I assume all BYCers are female unless there is an obvious clue to the contrary! (keeps my DH from getting jealous if I keep saying "this gal on BYC said the funniest thing today...").
