This one I think looks the most like your girl, but I have a lighter buff with blue lacing that I was going to take a picture of but it started storming, I will get some of her and better ones of this one later on when it is better weather.

The rest of the pictures are of some more babies I got at the same time. Sandy

So, apparently the "Ameraucanas" that I got from McMurray aren't really that at all right? They're EEs. It doesn't really matter to me which one they are, since I got them for the egg color, but it does seem like false advertising for the Hatchery to state Araucana/Ameraucana as the listing.

Thanks so much for this thread, I've been using Araucana and Ameraucana interchangeably because that's the way it was listed in the catalog.

I've even got a thread going about my injured "Araucana" I'll have to go fix the title on it, to read EE instead.

Yep afraid so, but on the up side they are gorgeous birds, that lay really neat eggs! I like all three breeds but the EEs are my favorite one! I also got my girls from a Hatchery (Ideal) and they were listed Auraucana/Ameraucanas too. I think it is a misrep.and I believe they do it intentionally to suck us ones that really don't know the difference in, but I really could care less, I love my girls.

alright so from looking at pictures and reading the info I see that my local farm actually is selling easter eggers, and not araucana. They do look very pretty but is $4.25 for a 4 week old pullet seem like a good price. I don't know if the owner knows if they are easter eggers or not but I wonder if I should tell him. Tell me what you think.

Thanks......Cody

Well you could if you want too, I tried to tell the Rural king here that they were selling EEs and not Ameraucanas and she was really offended! But maybe your person will be more willin to listen? Good luck!

Here is Peanut, my EE pullet. She's the big brown girl in the middle of the 1st photo. She was sold to me locally as an "Araucana," but the folks here at BYC have since educated me that she is an EE. I love her anyway! She is my favorite pet chicken! The last photo is the most recent after she finished feathering out.
