Hi, I got this Rooster supposed to be an Ameraucana, but am sure it is an EE. Any idea what other breed he may be mixed with? He is 20 weeks old and large. I was going to try and breed him with some other EE's I have and see what peeps out. :)

Also, he seems a bit odd... I have 6 hen's and they are very active (chase him away now). He seems to move differently then the hens, almost like a stork... When he pecks the ground sometimes even twists his head almost upside down... And he seems to move slowly and maliciously. I am new to raising chickens, just seems odd...
Any other thoughts would be great...
Thanks,

If he is new he is just moving carefully yet still trying to win over the hens. There is no telling what breed they might have crossed into any EE.

I don't know either, but sure is pretty..love the colors

This has been incredibly helpful!I got a beautiful EE with that typical wild coloring a few months ago when I got chicks for the first time. I had to put her picture in the breed forums because I had no idea of what she was (an assistant thought that she was a gold lace wyanndotte when we got her as a day old - all I knew was that her growing-in feathers didn't match the picture!) The nice BC commentators cleared that up, and I'm glad I found this forum now. I got a chick with muffs and slate legs now so we'll see how she turns out. I hope to get green eggs from my first EE and blue ones from this one!
