I think she lays a blue egg, but am not 100% certain. She was hatched from a pen that had a Lavender Ameraucana rooster and a black Ameraucana rooster. The only hens were 2 black Ameraucana hens. I have no idea how I could have gotten a blue from that, but I did. There is no question on the blacks, they are not dark blues. They came from Paul Smith. Weird, huh? Blue from the Lavender?

It's happened out of my eggs too. All of the splits I had were black and someone I sold eggs to hatched a blue.

Oh, well that is good to know! Now I know where she came from! Thanks!

She's a tough one, and a good example of one reason why birds shouldn't be evaluated by pictures; every picture looks different enough that they could be of several different birds. LOL If that's silver leaking on her feathers, I wouldn't use her to breed as an Ameraucana, even though I really like most of what I see. Her comb, to be honest, looks off, but I can't tell if its good or bad...................... some things need to be seen in real life.

I type too slow.

If she's blue split to lav, she would be an EE here, I'm adamently against mixing those two colors on purebreds.

Easter Eggers don't have "varieties"

Genetically he's a duckwing or wheaten with columbian, but, that's basically it.

My "ameraucana" lays an olive egg.

Her first tiny pullet egg is in the middle. The one on the right is our blue mix pullet, Pidg's egg. The left is from our barnyard mix bantams.
Some of our bantams lay a pale blue egg.

You sure she's pure? She has a pretty big comb, not to mention long body. She might just be an Olive Egger. Many Olive Eggers look strikingly like their Ameraucana parents.

I have know idea what she is to be honest. Any ideas please? She reminds my of my EE but she is black and white HOWEVER she has no tail?
