DIFFERENCES IN TWO BLUE BREEDS

They were made to be A dual purpose chicken they lay around 250 eggs A year and it was supposed to be Europe's RIR but they turned into more of A pet and never caught on because people liked them because they were pretty. I was thinking about them when I first started but I decided to go with Ameraucana instead
Thank you TexasSam

People are so deceptive about breeds of chickens and deceive innocent people. But my 2 blue chickens love me and I love them :). They follow me all around the yard and are very sweet chickens. Whatever they are
When I first started I was deceived I was told I was getting black Ameraucans and they were very young and I was still not very knowledgeable about it and got 5 hens. They looked like Ameraucana black with slate legs later found out I got nothing but mixed breed Easter eggers. I really like them and I am keeping them. So now I have two coops one for EE's and one for Ameraucana. Keep in mind that they are not always being deceptive but they don't know what they have anymore they you knew what you were getting if you know what I mean.

I bought them from a woman with a farm off of Craigslist in Toccoa, GA. View attachment 1108360
They are beautiful:) I love blue birds. So much that I kept one blue mixed chick from my rooster. I'm hoping it's a pullet.
She may even turn out looking similar to yours!

I found this picture online while searching for Andalusian pictures. My hen looks like this hen

Does yours have white lobes? I can't see in the pictures well but they look red. But they look similar.

My rooster does have brown /red peeking through. He must be an unknown mixed breeds
With those pale legs I'd say so. But he is a looker!
He is beautiful
Thank you :) I love him and he's well mannered.

You are too kind. Thank you :). I have learned a lot though from the chicks that I bought outside of Murray mac Murray chickens. I still love them all and enjoy them immensely.

No white ear lobes. But they are a beautiful blue. So I shall continue to enjoy them. My two blue chickens are very much attached to me and vice versa.

That explains the brown eggs.

They become like dogs :) mine get mad when I walk away and will run to the door to block me in.
My hen had a hard time when she started laying. She became so insecure that she comes on the back porch or to the front door looking for me when she lays. I go out back and tell her to get in her nest. She goes in it but wanted me to stay with her. It was so unusual and sweet

Oh my, probably wondering what was happening! You must make her feel safe.

To tell you the truth I am attached to my little black birds. I thought about giving them away but now they are my buddies and I will keep them plus I was lucky and got A awesome rooster out of it he is so protective and takes care of them he leads them to the good foraging places and comes running if one of them starts yelling. At the end of the day he makes sure they all get in their coop at the end of the day.
