Different breeds together?

My flock is comprised of different clutches. My clutches stick together and are close to each other since they are raised together.

Thank you all! I love the idea of having an "artistic palette" in my flock. I'm also looking for dependable egg layers for my family of 7. Also looking for gentle ones for my kids to befriend and care for. I think 6 chickens is about the limit that I could fairly maintain in my suburban yard and since there are so many beautiful ones that fit the beautiful, dependable, gentle description, I will probably go with 6 different kinds. Arg. I know from reading other posts that it may be hard to stop with just 6. Must...Use...Self...Discipline.

I have my chickens for the eggs but I also like to see variety in my flock. It makes me happy.

It cracks me up that breeds stick together even when they are all in the same flock. Silly chickens.

I have a large mixed flock, just a few of the same breeds. and I have to say, that the girls of the same breed definitely hang out together more than anything. it is wuite funny to see actually!
