Digging and Piling

Thinking it might be boredom as this is my work week, and days are still short so I can't let them out when I get home from work because its dark already so they are in essence, cooped up for a week.

A secure run is really a necessity for anyone who is going to be away from home during the daylight hours.

I have 4 hens and the square feet they get to play in is about 40. They have poke around room, but this just happens first thing in the morning really I am noticing. If i get up at sunrise essentially to clean the poop, i can get it before the churn it all under, if I am an hour or so later say 7 to 8 am, then they rooted through the pine shavings and I end up spending the next 10 minutes sifting and picking instead of just being to grab it off the top.
