No, it wasn’t a bug problem. The soil in that particular area is a runoff spot where floodwater streams through when it rains so it was just a bad idea to plant them there. Lesson learned.

Female blossom #1 is definitely a pollination failure. It has shown zero growth but has not yet rotted off.

Female blossoms #2, 3, 4 and 5 are all looking successful and showing good growth.

Attempted pollination of #6 and 7 with male Whopper blossoms this morning.

Still no female blossoms on the Whoppers.

I would be afraid to sell seeds for that kind of money. I would get an ass whoppin because they would not germinate!!!!
