Hello! Can I give my adult turkey hen diluted Tiagard 12.5% orally via a syringe, getting the liquid carefully down her throat? She won't drink the medicated water even with sugar or with apple juice. If I can do this, could someone give me the dosage and dilution? She weighs about 8-10 pounds. Many thanks for any help, we're really struggling here.

Sorry your turkey is sick. :hugs
Can you get an exact weight?

If she were mine, I would try giving it orally twice a day.
10 pounds
10 / 2.2 x 25 / 125 = 0.9 ml twice a day

I remember reading that when it's given undiluted they vomit, so keep that in mind. If she's not drinking unmedicated water, I recommend tubing fluids to her. Do you know how to tube fluids?

Many thanks for your reply @casportpony! So I can give Tiagard straight into her mouth with a syringe? If the dose is .9ml (she is 10 pounds) I could add in a ml or 2 of water to dilute it? Do you think twice a day for 5 days?

She's drinking regular water fine. She just won't touch the medicated water and it's the only fowl antibiotic I have on hand beside penicillin. (And it'd probably take me close to a week to get Tylan, which I know is the other recommended antibiotic for respiratory infections.)

I've not tried this medication, but that's what I would try. If she's not better after 72 hours you need to look at getting something else.
