Hey yall! Just an update. My peas came in yesterday and they are whoopin' my behind. I picked more than two 5 gal. buckets full and shelled 3/4s myself. My wife helped with some but my boys are at that age when the oldest is in that "silly stage" and thought it was funnier to not shell them properly and watch my precious, delicious peas pop out all over the porch.😡 so they were relieved of duty and sent out in the yard to play.
After sTaying up to 230am last night and shelling for several more hours today, i finally got all 37 cups of peas popped, blanched, vacuum sealed, and in the freezer! Not bad for the 1st haul especially when some were as big as dimes!
I hope everyone's gardens are growing well and look forward to hearing your updates as well.

Sounds like a great first haul to me! Congrats on those peas!

We are in the middle of a pretty long drought here so despite my best water-hauling efforts, I don't expect a great harvest of anything this year.

But, I see hope in the teeny, tiny tomatoes that are appearing on the plants and some nice looking onion tops.

Wow that's amazing. Sunday I harvested my first shelling peas of the season (actually I forgot to buy frozen peas, so to the garden I went) and most of them were so puny 😅 I only ended up with about 1/4 cup of peas.
