Dinosaur eggs (aka double yolk)

So, for double yolk eggs (I'm having trouble tracking down the literature on it) I believe that chickens that regularly lay them have a higher rate of prolapse and other reproductive problems and issues. But it's not like there's anything to be done about it, the only way to stop it would be to basically give the bird chicken birth control to stop all laying (which some vets have done but it's prescription only and expensive and has its own side effects, it's used on pet doves and parrots sometimes).

So basically just keep an eye on your hen for other problems they may be more prone to.

She seems super robust and healthy. I see zero signs of anything wrong with her (of course I'm still learning). Far as I can tell her poops are good, she has a voracious appetite, drinks plenty of water, bosses the other ladies around and she lays almost every day even though the others seem to be laying every second day right now (and one seems to be taking a full on vacation because she didn't lay for about a month, then laid one, now back to not. I'm not worried yet though, a couple of the others have done the same thing and eventually they get back at 'er).

Yeah, more like, as they age, 2-4 years old, don't be surprised if she's the first to develop sudden or serious health issues. It's not 100% by any means, just something to think about.

Perhaps. Hopefully not for a while. I was just out there trying to get pics for my other post and I noticed a different one is limping now. Not badly, and the same thing happened with yet a different one a while back but there was nothing wrong with her foot, and it seemed to heal up in its own. Maybe a pulled muscle or something. Hopefully this is the same sort of thing. I'll try to get a look at her foot when I'm back out there.

How high are your roosts? She might have hurt herself getting down.
