Dirty ducks

New to ducks. I noticed our male and female white ducks have dirty backs... I adopted them over the past few months (2 & 5 years old). I clean their kiddie pool every 1-2 days. They wander the yard all day and find the low/ wet areas to play in. They only started looking like this a week or so ago. Is this normal? We r building a pond this summer.

I have crested pekin ducks and they are best in mud/dirt, but they always get in the pool to clean themselves. one of my crested has always looked more dirty then the others, but I believe it has to do with her development from her disorder. She always has dirty spots in areas where her feathers are not quite like normal ducks. It is hard to tell without a photo. I really don't know much about ducks as I do with chickens as I'm still learning, but maybe it's molting time?

I’ll try to get pics tomorrow. They have been pretty clean since I got them. They have only been freerange for a few weeks.
