I have a little 2 1/2 week old chick who got her back pooped on last night! It got all down inside her wings at the top of her back. (I assume she was sleeping under the perch)

I want to clean her off. I tried a wet paper towel with a little soap but she is still pretty dirty. I just dont want to get her too wet.

Ideas?

Try a warm wet rag, if that doesn't work just leave it. Chicks are suppose to get a lil' dirty!

Thanks, Kay!

I'm sure she will not be hurt by being a little dirty. I'm becoming quite the mother hen! (literally!) lol

This is the same chick that had some eye problems early on. Her eye is great now, but her feathers around her eye area is a little worse for the wear. So she looks pretty bad right now!

The poop will ether fall off the chick when it crusts or it will grow off naturally. It's also easy to crumble it off.:)

Aw haha poor girl... and on top all of that, she has to go through her weird looking teen phase too! I bet she's gonna become a real beauty when she's older though

I had a bantam that got poop right in the middle of her back. I quickly washed her off in warm water, dried her a little w/paper towels and put her back under the heat lamp. She was fine after the quick wash off. (she was 3 weeks) It will grow off but I just couldn't shake the knowledge that it was there and I HAD to get it...some people will understand, others would be fine with leaving it!
