Discussing details of mottled chicken genetics

Pics
I don't a have a pure gold colored bantam to breed her to. I do have a Blue Gold, Crow-wing Rooster, who is a mix of OEGB X Phoenix.

I have Porcelain D'uccles, so I can cross the OEGB to one of them.
That’s a good idea. If the spots turn out to be leakage, then that same leakage may show up in the offspring, but it would be red. You would be able to easily tell if it’s mottling or not.

Don’t use porcelain d’uccles. They have some of the same genes that could produce mottling-like leakage. They’re mille fleur with two copies of the lavender gene (and I believe they also have cream?). I should’ve been more specific. By “lavender”, I mean the self blue variety, which is black with two copies of the lavender gene, so will behave like solid black in first gen crosses.

Can I use my Exchequer Japanese Bantam hen?

I thought it might be a good one.

She's Blue, & I haven't seen any obvious leakage. Would you like to see a picture of her if I have time to take some tomorrow?
I always love to see pictures of chickens. :p
Speaking of pictures, I recently downloaded a few from a year ago of my mottled rooster. Since this is a thread about mottling, do you mind if I post some confirmed examples of it for anyone watching?

First off is Cheeto. He was a cross of d’uccle rooster x serama hen. I was sent a picture of his parents when I got him, and the father was mille fleur and the mother was buff with heavy mottling.
