Discussing details of mottled chicken genetics

Here's Blue, the OEGB/Phoenix cross. He recently grew back his tail, it was pulled out when he got into a tussle.

He has dark speckles on his legs like a mottled bird.

He is a nice OEGB mix, but if it’s possible that he carries mottling, then the test wouldn’t work. That’s because his offspring could be mottled, whether or not the d’uccle carries a dominant mottling gene.
I don't have any gold roosters, & he's the only one who has gold in the bantam coop besides my sister's partridge silkie rooster. He's Birchen based. And the blue partridge silkie rooster.

I didn't get new pictures of him yet, but he has more color now.

Those two would work. Unless they’re mottled silkie color crosses. :p
