One day I was walking out to see the chickens as normal, but this time it was anything but normal. There was poop on the ground but it was red and had blood in it. I immediately thought it was a disease called coccyx or something like that and I got pretty worried. Does anybody know a cure that does not require to go to a super hard to find store, because right now it is sort of hard to get outside without risking...? Some pictures below

Coccidiosis. It will kill your chickens if not taken care of immediately. I've actually have been dealing with this these past few days. You need to buy Corid and put it in their water, 2 teaspoons to every gallon of water and make sure that is their only water source. It will take about a week to see results of it going away. In the meantime put apple cider vinegar in their water (only water source) and make sure they are drinking plenty. Put some garlic in their food also. Deep clean the coop asap and then start cleaning it daily so the worms in their poop don't get back to them. Sprinkle DE around the poop board or floor after every cleaning. Here is a link to buy Corid.

This is what I use. Good luck and keep me posted!

The parasites die when frozen during winter, DE won't prevent reinfection.

Thanks! When will this disease start to kill a chicken, because I noticed that some of my chicks had it too for about a month already.

Don't you mean Coccidiosis?
It's a protozoan parasite that attacks the gut of a chicken.

To me it looks like intestinal shedding.
What does intestinal shedding do to the chicken? I just want to know so that I will understand this situation better throughout my future years of having chickens.

Let your chickens eat dirt in the woods/yard. Woods is the best. It will cure cocci and prevent it. The common disease to worry about that you can't do anything about is Mareks. That's a bridge too far once infected. That looks like a neuro disorder with the neck recessed back, lethargic, hard to keep eyes open and zero concern or motivation. Adult birds normally are less susceptible to Mareks. If they can roam the unfertilized or weed poisoned landscaping - they should not have a cocci issue at all. Let them eat dirt, good old fashioned dirt and not a bunch of chicken crap compost in an enclosed run and coop. That's not their natural environment where they thrive. Its not the same. This could also be a ton of other crap. Need to know more. Need to see the bird, and what its vent looks like. If it passes do your own necropsy and investigate the digestive tract. Tons of videos. Look at its digestive tract to see whats going on. Sorry couldn't be more help. Good luck.

Our chickens are free range chickens and the land does not contain chemicals, but we are not sure if past owners have used chemicals in the land. I personally am a huge fan of having happy and healthy chickens by free ranging. And I hope the healthy part can remain. As in eating dirt I am a little confused. We don't own a forest but we do have 2 pine trees in our chicken area. The chickens have access to it and we always feed them there because of the shade and how it is not too close to our house.
