i lost a grown chicken today i think it was sick.
symtoms:
1. hiding.
2. neck was hiden
3. comb pale at base then turns dark purple at tipps
4. crop feels like it had air in it.

it was about 6-7 years old.

so do you have any idea what happened was it old age or a disease?

That’s not really enough information to get the exact cause. Could be a lot of things. If her(?) abdomen was large and either hard or squishy, I’d guess some kind of issue related to egg laying, such as ovarian cancer or egg yolk peritonitis.
