Dishwashers

I have three dishwashers...Zach, Garrett, and Ben. They work for food most of the time!

Back a few years ago, I would go to my neighbors to cook, she has a home for MR adults (20's) and they needed "cooking lessons". I'd go up, the 4 of us would send everyone upstairs to take a nap and we cooked up a storm! Usually enough for 3 days meals. My neighbor appreciated it, the girls enjoyed it, and they even washed dishes! How could I go wrong with that deal!
So, instead of a dishwasher, go cook at someone elses house! lol.

Bosch dishwashers are amazing and you can't hear them running. I
had one from 1997 to 2000 in the house I lived in. (Room-mates with
best friend). It cost around $850 but was SO WORTH IT. They are also
the most energy efficient. The drying cycles on dishwashers waste
a ton of energy. I just open the door of my dishwasher after it turns
off to let the dishes air dry.

We have a stainless Fridgadare(bad spelling) that cost around $375.
On a scale of 1 to 5 I'd give it a 5.

Dishwasher is installed!! Ran a load last night and all looks good! The machine is super quiet, I actually had to check to make sure I pressed start correctly. Thank you all for helping me narrow down selections!!

BOSCH. They are German engineered, very quiet, and clean very well. The inside is stainless steel, and still looks just as shiny as it did 8 yrs. ago. They have several different models, and I remember the salesman telling us that since this same company also makes car parts, they made one that can hold them...I think he said they washed an aluminum rim in one.
I still laugh at my sister, who prewashes her dishes before she puts them in the dishwasher, and when she sees me put in my dishes after only lightly scraping them off, she is like.."that will never come clean"...but when she sees them she can't believe it. And there is a trap that catches all big particles that you remove and clean out, so no clogged drains.
They may cost a little more than other makes, but I think it is worth it, because you probably would replace yours before I would have to replace mine.
Oh, and they use less water than most others do.
something like 3 to 5 gallons, depending on which cycle you use.

We had to get a new one since my old one was recalled.
I replaced it with a maytag legancy series, and I hate it!
It has the movable top rack, but the braces hang low and when you are sliding in the lower rack the braces knock the glasses off the self, and I have broken a dozen glasses that way, Grrr.
It doesn't seem to rinse the residue off the dishes, mostly the glasses and it seems to leave residue in the glasses and coffee mugs!
The shelf for the glasses in the lower rack is made of flimsy plastic and doesn't seem to hold a lot of weight, which is real stupid since glasses can get heavy!!!
So something to look at when you go and shop, bring a glass with you, so you can see if the brackets that move the upper shelf up and down will knock your taller glasses off their shelf.
I doesn't matter if the shelf ins in the higher or lower position, it is the brackets themselves that get in the way.
None of the things I hate about my dishwasher could have been for seen, even doing all the research I did!
