BOSCH. They are German engineered, very quiet, and clean very well. The inside is stainless steel, and still looks just as shiny as it did 8 yrs. ago. They have several different models, and I remember the salesman telling us that since this same company also makes car parts, they made one that can hold them...I think he said they washed an aluminum rim in one.
I still laugh at my sister, who prewashes her dishes before she puts them in the dishwasher, and when she sees me put in my dishes after only lightly scraping them off, she is like.."that will never come clean"...but when she sees them she can't believe it. And there is a trap that catches all big particles that you remove and clean out, so no clogged drains.
They may cost a little more than other makes, but I think it is worth it, because you probably would replace yours before I would have to replace mine.
Oh, and they use less water than most others do.
