Sounds like what your ducks are doing is completely normal. Mine like to eat holes in the ground, too, especially if it's really muddy.

Ducks, ya know.... They just LOVE to eat dirt and mud. I pretty sure it's one of their favorite pastimes...

As a matter of fact, my ducks have literally eaten a hole in the ground that is now big enough it almost always has water in it - either from the rain or from the water they continuously spill from their waterers.
Again, ducks are are just hilarious!

This is sooo true...exactly why I love them so much..and when I yel..ducks. And them come running through the field...lol..they are a blast

Oh my gosh..I thought I was the only one with that many ducks..or at least that’s what my husband says..I have 43...but all kinds of breeds..I like to mix it up..I love all the colors..but I started with 4 Muscovy and 4 khaki...

This is beautiful...my ducks would beat up that pool in an hour...I put out baby pools this summer because I thought the pond was too far away..Chris thought I was nuts and complained about the water bill..but I had to change them constantly because they would mess on the, right away...lol..must love ducks

I got 2 noticeable holes in my yard. Both were dug up due to the water bucket being placed their at one point.

They are kids in a candy shop when water hits the ground.

This is sooo true..but.. I have 43 ducks and a whole lot of holes...lol
