Dixie Chicks

No problem Henn! Maybe some day we can trade eggs.

I have one OE, but she is 1/2 Ameraucana and half Marans.... that means that she only has one O = the blue egg gene. The blue egg gene is dominant, and is designated with a capital 'O'.

So, obviously, my Marans are oo (no blue egg gene).

And any chicks bred from the Marans, oo crossed to my olive Egger Oo would be half Oo and half oo.

Oo would lay eggs with a blue shell.
  1. All I have to say about that is O!

I've got to get it straight before I pick out which ones are going where.

Why did byc number my response and not let me edit the 1. out? Guess I'm new here....Did they change some laws while I was at training last week?

I call them the original Ameraucana, because they came before the Araucana and the Ameraucana. Haha not really, I call them Easter Eggers.

I've heard them called something else also, can't remember exactly how they put it, non-SOP Ameraucana or something to that effect Lol!

my ameraucana was sold to me like that. However someone said they lay blue eggs, Mine lays green, obviously not a "real" ameraucana... the seller wasn't being honest.
