my ameraucana was sold to me like that. However someone said they lay blue eggs, Mine lays green, obviously not a "real" ameraucana... the seller wasn't being honest.

I bought some from the feed store last year. They were marked as Araucana. As they got bigger, it's obvious they are EEs. I'm Ok with it, but it still makes me mad.

I know after educating myself on them that I would have had to pay lots more than I did, and they lay pretty green eggs, so I am good with it. It's just aggravating.

I swear there is some sort of shadey chicken side where just any old animal that has feathers and might act like a chicken can get passed off as such n such....

I bought some from the feed store last year.  They were marked as Araucana.   As they got bigger, it's obvious they are EEs.  I'm Ok with it, but it still makes me mad.   I know after educating myself on them that I would have had to pay lots more than I did, and they lay pretty green eggs, so I am good with it.  It's just aggravating.

Our feed store had araucana on a order form said blue egg, rumples and ear tufts $2.75 ea for pullets. I asked them what hatchery they get them from, Ridgway in OH. I put a thread asking on BYC, they are EE and the hatchery doesn't say they are pure araucanas. It is the feed store order form that's wrong.
