Dixie Chicks

so of course as I was standing there taking a picture of the eggs I was thinking man what would an alien think...look there is a human grabbing the turds coming out of those birds and making a big fuss about it, maybe performing some sorta scienic experiment or religious act with them

I've ordered from:
J.M. Hatchery - Freedom Ranger meat birds
Mt. Healthy Hatchery - this is the hatchery our co-op orders from, got my very first chickens, Easter Eggers, from them and went together with some others for a later order from them that included golden laced wyandottes
Schlecht Hatchery - Cornish X broilers and silver laced wyandottes (not good examples of them)

I continue to order my Cornish X meat birds from Schlecht and have a friend that orders with me so we can get a better price. They are a short term commitment for filling a freezer.
I have a different friend that likes the Freedom Rangers from J.M. Hatchery so I will share an order with her when she wants so we can get a better price or meet the minimum.

I would recommend any of the above hatcheries but BYCers are where all of the birds in my current, and permanent, flock come from.
how did you find mt healthys birds?

Quote: Our farmers co-op here orders often from Mt. Healthy. My first ever (2007) four Easter Eggers hens were from them. One laid an olive egg and the other three laid blue eggs. The golden laced wyandottes from them were nice but not show quality by any means. My friend ended up with mine when I decided to go with my Icelandics.

Pic of first ones ever. Muffs and beards on the three that laid blue eggs...the black and white one laid the olive eggj...she is the one that got me interested in Silver Laced and Golden Laced Wyandottes.....she was obviously a Wyandotte cross....
