Dixie Chicks

Our farmers co-op here orders often from Mt. Healthy. My first ever (2007) four Easter Eggers hens were from them. One laid an olive egg and the other three laid blue eggs. The golden laced wyandottes from them were nice but not show quality by any means. My friend ended up with mine when I decided to go with my Icelandics.

Pic of first ones ever. Muffs and beards on the three that laid blue eggs...the black and white one laid the olive eggj...she is the one that got me interested in Silver Laced and Golden Laced Wyandottes.....she was obviously a Wyandotte cross....

Out of the ten adopt me ones we had three pullets. One of each, EE, GL Polish and a dark cornish. Roos, two white cochin, two welsummer, one of each white leghorn, buff polish and silver laced polish.

The ducks I used to have came from a local farm produce stand, big busy place, I got some golden comets there also once. They sell hundreds of chicks, ducklings, turklings, guinea keets (where I got the guineas I had also). I'm pretty sure they get them from Mt Healthy cause they have tetra tints and Healthy is the only hatchery that has them. They always look like good healthy birds, and they get quite a few different breeds.
They open up for the season this Friday. I'm going to have to avoid them like I'm avoiding TSC.
