Dixie Chicks

ok does a dark cornish chick have a white belly feathering and a brown leghorn chick have a brown belly feathering?

Just wait till they get big, then it's easy. I had both, just one dark Cornish, I was looking forward to roasting her, dang predator had dinner before I got a chance

I dunno... I think the best I have had was 8 out of 9 (and that was shipped eggs).

But, I also got 1 out of 12 with shipped eggs.

And hatching from my eggs... is all over the board....

I think lots of it is feed..... if I haven't upped the feed enough from just their regular pellets... I get a worse hatch rate

I am pretty sure the leghorn is " @Sharps Big 50 " chicken he always goes on n on about leghorn lol and has been teasing me he doesnt even have a leghorn cuz it's so hard to tell them apart lol I just keep thinking the littlest one should be the leghorn not the biggest lol

I want my kids to get better at butchering.

Blah...

Last time they did pretty well, except spouse grabbed the carcasses before I gave them a once over.....

so spouse cooked the birds WITH the crop still in place and full of food....

I think the oil glands were still on too

at least three times a day if I got to darn busy.. when I woke up...when I had lunch and just before dinner and I tried to get one in the middle of the night when I woke up...........

I didn't think it had to be as often as they say. A darn broody hen probably doesn't stir the pot all day long, and how's she going to know she got them all when she can't mark them.
