Has anyone ever incubated eggs that you washed 1st? I am so sick of waiting for the girls to lay clean eggs. They are not cooperating!
I have.... and I marked them to see if it changed the hatch rate... doesn't look like it did, or at least only a tiny percent (I didn't actually keep records)

Hi everyone!!!  Happy late Easter!  Ours was good, but busy.   We always have a houseful come here, so it's a lot of work, but well worth it:D .  It's suppose to rain everyday this week for the next 4 days:sick   I wish I could ship it your way @perchie.girl

@RavynFallen
,   Hope they find out what's up soon.  Migrains are terrible.  I get them really bad sometimes.  Dr said stress, high blood pressure, over exertion, over weight, who knows....?  I hope you feel better soon though.

Thanks, hon... had it checked before, best they could come up with is 'they're genetic', my mom used to get them a lot... stress does make them worse, and more frequent... :/

Incubated washed eggs before, none made it to lockdown... better luck incubating dirty eggs, just smell test them every day...

I hear ya, I used to get sinus headaches that were so bad I couldn't see or think.

Reflexology is an alternative medicine involving application of pressure to the feet and hands

Oh, ya... 'member now... yeah, that helps... my uncle taught me a pressure point in web between thumb and forefinger that eases it while pinching... but that's always temporary... sinuses suck, lol... have those issues too, being allergic to TN does NOT help either... :/

When the wife feels a migrane coming on ( hands get tingly or she goes numb or something) she takes both tylonol and ibuprofrin at the same time, usually it keeps it from getting too bad. If it gets bad she is worthless for awhile. She doesn't get them very often but one time she was so bad she was vomiting, couldn't even stand up, her mom and sister took her to the ER cause they didn't know what was wrong, they were shopping.

Boy I'm glad the only time my skull feels like it's going to split in two and I'm nauseous it is self inflicted. Lol!

My sisters, mom and niece get them. Classic migraines not cluster though, with medication they use mint oil on the back of the neck and temples... Helps a bit
Mint oil's handy stuff...

yep it is temporary. at one time i was just pinching the heck outta my hand constantly to stop em. LOL not fun. Ick that and allergies too? UGH. I'm gonna PM you something to try if you want.

I hatch muddy duck eggs if they're not caked in mud. Hatch fine.
I just want some eggs from my welsummer that ain't frozen. I think we're past the frozen eggs weather, now I have to wait for her to start laying more often.

I only have one hen, how many days is the max for how old they are, going to take awhile to get enough eggs. Maybe two or three weeks?
My father had a Black Japanese bantam (little crow) that would hatch around 18, had to have takin more than 18 days to lay them all. She always had about a 100% hatch with hers and the RIRs.

Seems to be rare to get really clean duck eggs anyways, lol... they just love the mud and water too much!

7 to 10 is optimal viability, up to 2 weeks is good, but up to 3 weeks can still hatch... had 1 that was 3 weeks old when I put it in that hatched just fine... is all up to how long you want to push it and how many you want to put in at a time... good luck! :)
