LOL! When I tried to decipher this I got that you are wearing a thread and have some disease that Jem also has, from eating the new computer & itching your back. And that your phone is not working. Hope you are feeling better.....

I am going to go ahead and set every egg we have today. Most have been washed because it's a nasty mess out there. Poop and mud....

The CCLs have not resumed laying. Stubborn girls. I put the BR hens with the CCL roo & have 3 or 4 eggs from that mix

. I also put my other CCL roos with the EE & OE hens. We only got 2 eggs from those stingy girls. Just starting to warm up out there, but still a huge swampland. They are free ranging today though. Eating frogs, tadpoles & crayfish. Protein. You all have a good day!!

Ravyn, ever notice a link between the coffee and head aches? I was going through 3-4 pots per day at one point, and got real bad head aches when my intake was low. Stopped the coffee for a while and cut down to smaller amounts, and it helped.

I get that way if I have zero caffeine. Even if it's a sip, it helps.
It's taking a while to upload these videos. I'll post them once they're ready.

Why neosporin on the membrane? I won't go into my detailed rant, but in short, you're producing antibiotic resistant bacteria, and at some point when you might yourself be in need of antibiotics, they might not work on you.

Another interesting thing about antibacterials. A study was conducted in Spain, the Netherlands and Finland, involving 7000 children. The subject of the study was to see if there was a link in respiratory illnesses found in children and the use of chlorine to sanitize bathrooms. The study noted that Spain, where about 72% of bathrooms are cleaned with bleach had about 25% more respiratory issues than Finland, where only about 7% of bathrooms are cleaned with bleach, and weaker solutions are favored instead. I'm not completely sure about the numbers as I read this last week and I didn't look them up again, but it was pretty close to what I posted.
I refuse to oversanitize. We need a little dirt or we can't fight off anything. No Lysol disinfecting doorknobs and handles for me just 1:10 bleach water solution to wipe things down when someone in the house gets sick which is rare for us. Maybe once or twice a year.
I have a sis in law that scrubs everything in her bathroom daily and the whole family is ill alll the time.

Here's another one. Here she's ripped off quite a lot of fur and takes it down. After this she went upstairs for a rest. Later she had sealed the entrance again. All the fur you see on the ground had disappeared too.
I have never seen that. I had no idea they ripped out their fur. That explains all the excess fur we thought was a missing mom in a nest full of babies when the kids were little. I thought the dog snuck up and ate her.

@vehve , Thanks for posting that! That is awesome. I was lucky enough to see our bunny mama rip her fur out, but little girl was at school. I'll show her your videos later today. I absolutely love the set up she has. I am going to try to get something like that built this summer.

JWB, pester me about putting up a coop page for the bunny pen. I'm actually quite happy with how it turned out, so it wouldn't be a bad idea gathering all the pics I took in one place.

I hope your daughter enjoys the videos.

How are your wee ones doing?

tnt, about the missing mommy, apparently bunnies only feed their young about twice a day, and at other times they stay as far away from the nest as possible so that they won't attract predators. I saw a video where a bunny started digging, and suddenly she unearthed a tunnel and 10 baby bunnies came out to feed. I'm hoping that's what Hilma will be doing too.

the only reason for it is to keep the membrane from drying out as it won't dry up like water does. Never thought about it till today, Vaseline would do the same thing peobably.

This was years ago, the dog got the babies before we could do anything anyway. The warren tunnel is such a cool thing.

Coconut oil works too.

Hi everyone
frow.gif

trying to get caught up with all of you, so I'll just say congrats on the hatches, sorry for those not feeling well and love the bunny stuff Vehve.

More bad news from the Avian Flu front. Two more commercial turkey operations in Minnesota are hit and now Mike the Chicken Vet from Canada is passing on a report from the Canadian Animal Health Network that the flu has been officially located in Ontario, sorry.
Here's the link to the pdf file the Ontario AHN issued.

For those who don't get his emails, I find his posts both interesting and informative.
Here is the link to his page if you are interested in checking him out.
