Two rescues. One's a St. Bernard / German Shepherd / Malamute (Gabby, girl) and the other is a brindle Greyhound (Tibbs, male)what kinda puppers do you have @Peep_Show any pics?![]()
Ain't that the truth! I took a picture of mine before throwing chickens in there. Sure enough, five minutes later a cecal poo on the ramp.honestly is there really such a thing as a clean coop? ok yes there is.. a brand new unused one........
Tibbs the greyhound stands next to the table, looks up with big brown needy eyes and makes a belch....it's his empty sound to show how hungry he is. Mind you, usually he has just had dinner less than 10 minutes before. Pretty funny. I'm glad they communicate (or try to) as much as they do.
Jem, I know you'll love this one......an broody Silver Laced Wyandotte....she is flattened here. This is how I keep others from laying in a broody nest. Dog crate on the floor of the coop. Hen moved from the community nests on to her separate nest after dark. Water and food inside the crate and the door opened each morning to allow her to stretch her legs.
Since you have an interest in combs. Here is an example of a nice rose comb on a Silver Laced Wyandotte cockerel.

@perchie.girl my DH took one look at that first goat house.."that is bad to the bone" immediately followed by "I can totally make that".
If that happens will be sure to post pics.
Yep... i had four to start with and lost the one female to a respiratory infection she would get better then would relapse.... I took her to the vet and we were giving her antibiotics and she ralleyed for another year. Sigh. The other three were wether males My three amigos... Diego Domino and Rikki... All disbudded. Domino was a pygmy and the other two were Nigerian Dwarfs... Domino was a bull dozer with fur.... Hes the one that made goat doors in the chainlink fence... Sigh.Oh, I LOVE the first one! But agree, mine would end up looking like the second one too, lol. Just a simple run-in shed eh? Sounds doable. Haven't had goats since I was a kid, I remember their attitudes and taking care of them, etc, but for some reason I couldn't remember housing requirements. My head is stuck on chickens and coops, lol.
Sorry about your goats, hon.![]()

been thinking bout gold laced orpingtonsI agree, Amberjem, NAF's Wyandottes are beautiful! Think we can do some sweet talking for some eggs??? lol
Saw some Silver Laced Orpington eggs on eBay, 8 eggs went for over $500, and their 2nd auction went over $300!! They were gorgeous, but that is just too much for me.
