Dixie Chicks

Al, sorry to hear about all your troubles. I hope your chicks at least have the common sense to pull through so that you'll get some positive experiences too.

Congrats to everyone with newly hatched chicks, and good luck to the ones still cooking something.

Deb, I hope El Niño brings a lot more rain to you still, but 2 inches is a good start.

Busy day here today. We finally settled on a design for the coffee table, and we poured it in the morning. I'll keep up the suspense until it's ready. Karin is attending a bachelorette party which will partly take place here, so we need to clean like crazy here, and it has also motivated us to continue decorating here, so today we went furniture shopping. We finally managed to find chairs for the terrace, and an armchair for the living room. Too bad they need to be ordered, so it will be about 4-8 weeks before we get them. When were leaving the furniture store we spotted a pile of pallets outside, and asked if we can grab a few, which they said was ok. I stripped the bottom parts off of them, and Karin washed them, and tomorrow they will get a treatment with red varnish, and then they will form a headboard for our bed. We still need to find light fixtures for the living room, but this place is starting to come together soon. Then we scrubbed the sauna compartment clean, and now I'm enjoying a well deserved beer.

You could try and send the rain up to us... we need some more!

Well, I am picking up a pair of Cayuga ducks tonight or tomorrow morning. Really excited about the potential of black eggs! I've looked all over the internet for some ducklings or even hatching eggs. Closest ducklings I can find are 4 hours away which is a bit far for a couple of ducklings.

Any leads or ideas?

a couple of chickens, a few ducks and a couple of quail aren't bad to have around, right? That doesn't sound crazy, right?

Nope, not crazy at all... :D

But isn't this the point where chicken math turns into poultry algebra??? ;)

How many does that all add up to bc? Lol.
Right at this moment 10 chickens plus 2 ducks tomorrow and after that plus whatever hatches. Applying @Alaskan 's theory :starting now!
