Dixie Chicks

Morning all, been so quiet here.

My duckies spent their first night outside last night. Temperature this morning was 2C. They do have a heat light in their tiny coop. Discovered they were up and about, playing in the water this morning which is just away from the heat light.

They outgrew their rubber box quickly. Although I cleaned the box twice a day, it was stinky and dirty 12 hrs later again. It was time they moved. Missing the little "peep" sounds tho...

I tried to get a chicken to sit on golf balls in the tiny coop (to take on the ducklings, but instead broke the 2 broodies in the process. Oh well, hopefully they'll lay again soon. Darn chickens...

My Cayuga still isn't laying either... wonder how long she'll take to recover from her moves.

I had dumped email addresses I really needed.
My new iphone keyboard works!
The old iphone keyboard disappeared.
Yippppeeeeeee
it works.
Had to reopen closed emails til I hit the correct one.
By the way, I will make sure never to close an email account that has active accounts relying on it ever again.

I have family and friends there....

:hugs    Have you heard from any of them?

Yep... I have checked in.... The people I know in Houston all live in different areas where "flooding has been the usual"

My baby sister lives over close to New Braunfels (a bit northwest of San Antonio) she said it was totall normal/no problems at all... It had been dry for so long, and the lake at canyan **** was super low, so all of the extra water just filled up the lake. Because of that there has been zero flooding downstream from the ****...

Over close to San Marcos (south of Austin, northeast of San Antonio) there has been bad flooding...but spotty. A friend pf mine has parents there, but they live on a hill, so no problems at all except for power loss for a day or something like that.

However, a friend of my sister, has a homstead house up around there, and that house was flooded up to the roof! The water came so fast that only one laundry basket of stuff was saved. I am not sure why a hmestead house got so super flooded... You would think it would be in a better spot... Makes me wonder what has changed in regards to swamp/flood plain/ topography that would cause that.

One of my sister's friends lost all of her poultry, and I think the goats too... The cattle made it because the neighbor ran over and opened the gate so that they could swim up to the road and get a rest from the water.

In short, yep terrible stuff on the news.. But all pf my close friends and family haven't been hurt at all.
