I know it doesn't make sense looking at them, does it? Lol. The tri color duck is genetically ee, completely lacking the extended black gene to turn the duck solid. A over marked solid colored duck is genetically EE. When you combine and EE and a ee, it evens out the expression of the extended black and lightens them up.I only took 3 pictures this morning, LOL just before work, will try and get some more tonight.
Interesting you say "tricolour usually used to lighten up an overmarked duck" as I find that one over marked! The two on the left side appear to be correct marked.
Sorry, I am no help here, hope someone else can help you![]()
I am very very surprised that you noticed. There were just too many differences of opinion.
Hi Felix
in short, I had an ohiki pullet get completely caked in mud and was stuck on her side in it, almost dead, she's alive and well. We had a discussion after some quail pictures were posted about how some would and some wouldn't eat them. Jem posted a bunch of awesome garden pictures and explained what her composter was to my garden illiterate self. Everyone discussed with seminolewind about the change. Cold Canadian said they're too jealous of your green houses to post their own gardening pictures.We all noticed
Sorry just skimmed, thread moved to fast for me.
Hi and have a great day all!
a local vet refused to see my friends parrot cause of AI. It had hit it's eye on the cage. She watched it happen. I understand the stopping of swaps and things, but some people are going nutty with it.@Amberjem
, that is funny about your princess turkey.![]()
@vehve
, Sorry to hear about your hen. You know I LOVE SS. They are just so beautiful! But I have been on a 3 year search for a mate for my SS roo. I've bought a few & in my experience, they are just not hearty. Hope all the other critters are doing well.
@minihorse927
, We went to a flea market yesterday & there is a shop at the flea market that sells birds. Not now. Has a sign posted by the state of Ohio. Then I did some research & bird sanctuaries are closed, bird shops, etc. I understand the precautions, I just feel for the shop owners. I usually take my Sun Conure to have his nails trimmed & his wings clipped, but I'm not taking him anywhere at this point. I can trim his nails myself, although it's not easy at all. Pasqually is a squirmy bird & will bite the stuff out of me when I try to trim them. His wings don't NEED clipped, I'd just hate for him to get loose & fly away. But I only get the wings done occasionally (maybe once a year, or once every other year).
ARG!!! I've gotta get ready for work. Got to let the pullets out 1st. Those funny birds all pile in a dog house at night. Not sure how they all fit, but come 9pm, they are all piled up and ready to be locked in. You all have a wonderful day.![]()
