Dixie Chicks

Thanks, Mini. So, there is hope that some of the seven eggs from my flock might be fertile. Good! The other three may or may not be fertile, but they were from a mixed flock with two roosters.

My bad news for the week is that my car finally and permanently died this week. It is only 18 and I don't want to bury hit. I am in the "don't think it is worth the tow cost after just putting 300 for this, 220 for that, 80 for the other and $112 for a battery my redneck friend swore was actually the problem." (It wasn't.) Good money after bad and all that.

My good news for the week is, I was out of mayonnaise and have no transportation. But I had Meyers lemons. I have not made mayo in years....but you know what they say about necessity.
Best **** mayo ever. I mean, I was licking the spoon. So, I may be car poor, but now I am homemade mayo rich!

What's your recipe?

With packing, I use the big bubble wrap on the outside and wrap each egg with small bubble wrap on the inside. Sometimes I get some so well wrapped that the Green Giant couldn't smash them but they end up cracking. I don't know what they do (yes I do) with these eggs. If it's not that, I was also taught to candle for detached yolks. I stopped selling hatching eggs because no body was getting a good percentage of hatches even with free second orders. I just don't have luck with people receiving viable eggs, and yes, I do check the yolks of mine to see if they were fertilized. People that have gotten unshipped hatching eggs from me have had great hatches. Maybe my eggs just don't ship well.

My goose eggs the same thing.

Good freaking lord! Those duckling still are MIA after going to the airport this morning!!! All we know is they're in Seattle somehwere!!!
