so I finally got my feeder dialed it perfectly........ originally had drilled 2 inch holes in the bucket.........well this didnt help at all it just spilled right out into the bottom pan and overflowed and got everywhere...sure didnt create no waste..........soo then I got another bucket and drilled half inch holes...this worked but was just a bit tight for the pellets so took half inch drill bit and drilled out next to the first drill mark... THIS works perfect....the chickens peck at the hole the food comes out they nibble it doesnt spill everywhere and there is no waste ! and the chickens are engaged in a pecking activity to keep them fed and entertained

Not quite, my duck eggs are 28 days so have another 9 or 10 days left. Candled last night to confirm a quitter, suspected it a few days ago.

Also candled the Tennessee red quail eggs, 1 early quitter and 2 clears, not bad at all out of 15. Those eggs were local, I traded my Orpington pair for hatching eggs

Perfect! I need to do make a second feeder.. got the bucket just nothing to place it on yet.

I was also going to take a bucket and drill larger ovals into it about half way up so ducks can stick their heads in. Avoids them getting into the water and spilling it all before the day is over. Easy to put a heating element in when winter comes again (not if, when winter comes.. )

I need to do something like this. I think it'd make my life easier. Have to figure a way to shelter it cause I'm trying to not feed in the barn unless they clean it up all at once. Don't need unwelcome critters snacking.

On a good note, just got a call to sell 2 of the call duck boys. A guy who has 8 or 9 hens wants them. They'll be safe it sounds like!

I swear! I can't catch a dang break! The check engine light just turned itself back on. :(

Are these eggs from your Cayuga ducks @BriardChickens?

I used a plant overflow tray on the bottom of the bucket worked great

I just use the bucket lid on mine...but you can use a larger plant overflow tray attached to the bucket lid to create a hood
