1st row on left is Mama Broody's, 2nd and 3rd row are Jack & Jill's, the rest are my 1st Lav hen and other 2 black splits... (not best lighting in this pic)

we need more pictures of them :p   so who is sitting on what eggs lol? and are the eggs all looking alive still? any more pips?

Jack & Jill's eggs are in 1 hatcher, got at least 1 more pip...
Mama Broody's own eggs in another, has 2 or 3 pips...
8 of the other hens eggs are under Mama Broody, she had at least 5 pips this afternoon, not gonna check again til tomorrow...
And the rest of the hens eggs are in separate tray in 2nd hatcher with 4 or 5 pips...

I separated the different batches of eggs so I can get better idea on who produces what...

Mama Broody and Jill keeping her company... Jill has no eggs, but is pretending to, lol...

what did you do with @minihorse927
 , @RavynFallen
 ?

Mini is probably crashed out trying to catch up on the sleep she lost over the MIA ducklings...

What a sweet new lav baby!!! you must give us chick deprived more pics!

Deb - reg gelatin won't work long term for egg storage because it eventually breaks down. If set properly, waterglass stays gelled forever as far as I know (never had it break down or even freeze on me)

thanks for all the info on Isinglass! I had no idea about the other uses except for paste/paper repair. Odd thing. I can find no reference to the original article published in the late 1970's early 80's. At the time I was involved with the board of a natural foods co-op, living on the farm and involved with an entire community of very well educated folks that were all doing their best to live chemical free. (Healthiest time of my life BTW). We all stored our eggs in waterglass and it was a pretty big deal for us when this article showed up in several of our go-to publications. I think it even showed up in Mother Earth News. Great to know it seems to not be true! Think I might still go with slate lime tho. Much more re-usable.
