What a sweet new lav baby!!! you must give us chick deprived more pics!

Deb - reg gelatin won't work long term for egg storage because it eventually breaks down. If set properly, waterglass stays gelled forever as far as I know (never had it break down or even freeze on me)

thanks for all the info on Isinglass! I had no idea about the other uses except for paste/paper repair. Odd thing. I can find no reference to the original article published in the late 1970's early 80's. At the time I was involved with the board of a natural foods co-op, living on the farm and involved with an entire community of very well educated folks that were all doing their best to live chemical free. (Healthiest time of my life BTW). We all stored our eggs in waterglass and it was a pretty big deal for us when this article showed up in several of our go-to publications. I think it even showed up in Mother Earth News. Great to know it seems to not be true! Think I might still go with slate lime tho. Much more re-usable.

Slaked Lime seems more practical to me as well.

Yep, I like Fiskers (or is it Fiskars?)... anyways, yeah I know the cautions, just want my calls to not clear the new fence and land in neighbors yard... I do not want my ducks shot... :(
I use hair cutting scissors. Work pretty good.
Perfect! That's what I need, thanks! :)
Is it best to do just 1 wing or both?
I hate grounding them but can't risk them landing in neighbors yard anymore... :/

I cut both. 1 winged birds tend to fly, although poorly.

I figured @minihorse927
was checking out the turkey in my vidoe  since ya asked to see pictures :p
actually, hadn't had the chance to watch that video yet.
