Dixie Chicks

Yeah, it bites.... Not sure ehat I am going to do about it.... I guess
I will wait until they grow up more, and I have a better look at what I have.

I think there are two SINGLE comb dark brown cockerels in the bunch... Maybe one will be such a stunner, that I won't be so deeply put out that the money I spent so that I didn't have to waste a year or more breeding bunches of roosters to get a homo RC.... Was wasted.

Yup, that bites the big hairies... :(

I finally counted my Marans... still in mixed flocks... 10 flockin' pullets and 1 roo... had 2 roos, sold one cuz too many roos...

Since it's looking more and more like I'm gonna sell them then of course they're my biggest group of pure hens... :/

@RavynFallen , what type of Marans do you have? I have a black copper French, a blue copper french and 3 or 4 cuckoo pullets.

I can't wait for the cuckoos to start laying. Not impressed with the laying ability of the black copper. I only get about one egg a month from her. The blue copper hen gives me about 3 eggs a week. Pretty sure I have a pic of her...... She is gorgeous!

WE'VE GOT CHICKS!!!! Broodzilla would not let us peek under her. She bit my daughter pretty good & gave her a clear message to stay away. We can hear lots of peeping. I'll get a better look today after work. Just didn't have time with everything going on.

My daughter in law told me yesterday that they are probably moving down south. Missouri or Arkansas

I don't want my son to move that far, but he's 23 and I can't stop him. They went on vacation there for 2 weeks & you know, the grass is greener there. It's always greener, but he doesn't understand that.

@Alaskan :hugs bummer. How old are they now?

One of the Isabel split Rose comb Leghorn boys I have has a horrible comb, I won't be keeping him either
