Pullet

That's how I found out I had another roo, watching them. The one was obvious. The second looks just like the pullets to me. I thought it was just the friendliest, cause it always follows me around trying to bite my toes. Now it's graduated to half heartedly attacking me. The big roo gets after it, maybe the little bugger thinks he can dominate me Lol! Today I checked its feet and I saw the start of bumps for spurs.

Beer, that's the other thing I noticed with mine... the roos tend to be more up under your feet early on while the girls are more standoffish... til they get to POL or laying... then the pullets love to run up and be petted... :idunno

hopefully my atandoffish is a girl then! Lol. My roo definitely acts like a roo some days. The pulled acts almost like a roo. She's more defensive. She's not looking to pick a fight but when I stick my hand right in front of her she puffs up and arches her neck and threatens to peck.

Oh, hopefully! That's exactly how my broody Silkie started out... she always tried to stay away from me, but not seeing well (very poofy crests and huge beards/muffs) she'd end up close and act pissy anytime I tried to touch her, lol... once she started laying, she runs to meet me at the gate and loves being petted...

Minihorse, I'm going thru the same thing-sexing silkies. Mine are 14 weeks. 10 silkies. 3 known pullets, 3 known roos , 4 confusing. I see what you mean about watching behavior. My one roo does the wing dance and I keep waiting for him to point out another pullet to me. Today I tried with bits of lettuce. To see if any roo is taking a piece and dropping it.
